Decorate your spa slippers

The perfect footwear for a relaxing spa

For recharging your batteries and restoring your energy, nothing beats a wellness weekend away with your best friends. But why not take some time out at home and unwind with a home spa? To make your wellness experience even more enjoyable, you could wear spa slippers that you’ve decorated yourself. We think these fabulous slip-ons have what it takes to become your favourites! If you like this idea, you’ll need some edding textile markers and a suitable pair of white fabric slippers. Designing with textile markers couldn’t be easier. There are 20 vibrant colours to choose from – or you can simply go for an understated black-and-white pattern. We’ve got a template for the motifs shown in our example. Simply print it out and copy the motifs onto the fabric. Even absolute beginners can achieve great results in no time! Once you’ve finished your design, iron over it to make it washable up to 60°C.

Step-by-step

Step 1

First, print out the template. For this design you’ll need an edding 4500 textile marker (we chose black in our example). You can see everything you need at a glance in our photo.

Step 2

To stop the slippers sliding around while you’re drawing, secure them to the table with strips of adhesive tape. Next, get your template ready, pick up the black marker and copy the motifs one by one. To add an amusing touch, try varying the motifs on each slipper, as shown in our example.

Step 3

We wrote “You are” on the inner sole of one slipper and “worth it” on the other. It’s easier if you draw the outlines of the images first before colouring them in.

Step 4

We drew a pair of winking eyes on the upper part of the slippers. When you heat-fix the motif with the iron, we recommend using the no-steam setting. Your slip-ons will then be wash-resistant up to 60°C.
