Step-by-step

Step 1

You can design your card freehand or use our template. Print out the template and use carbon paper and a pencil to transfer the speech bubble onto the black paper before cutting it out. Next, glue the speech bubble onto the top half of the card. Glue a piece of washi tape at an angle as far as the middle of the black area.

Step 2

First, use the silver brush pen to write “YOU” in large letters in the black speech bubble. As you do this, write over the washi tape. Next, write the word “are”. The metallic ink is highly opaque even on dark paper, allowing you to create beautiful effects.

Step 3

After leaving to dry briefly, peel off the washi tape. Write “amazing” on the black strip that’s been left untouched. The soft brush tip will lend a personal, unique feel to any lettering.

Step 4

Whether by freehand or with the help of the template, transfer the birthday muffin onto the card and colour in however you wish. A whole host of metallic colours shining for attention.
