Step-by-step

Step 1
You can see everything you need in this photo. Firstly, wash, dry and iron the fabric to ensure that the textile marker’s ink will be properly absorbed. The marker is available in 20 colours, so choose your favourites. Download the template from our website.

Step 2
Place the template in the middle, underneath the fabric and use a pencil to copy the motif. You can also draw the motif by hand – whichever you prefer.

Step 3
Colour in each area within the motif, one section at a time. We recommend letting each section of colour dry thoroughly before starting on the next colour. This will prevent the colours from running into each other.

Step 4
Once you’ve finished colouring everything in, fold a double hem, roughly 1 cm, along both narrow ends of the fabric. Pin in place and then use your sewing machine to stitch.

Step 5
Next, lay the fabric on the table with the decorated side facing upwards. Fold the narrow edges on top of each other over the design so that they overlap. This will leave a central opening for the cushion insert at the back. Position the pom-pom ribbon along all 4 sides of the fabric and pin through each layer of fabric.

Step 6
Stitch along all four outer sides. Next, turn the cushion cover the right way out through the opening at the back and fix the decorated motif by ironing it on the no-steam setting. Your new cushion cover will now withstand washes of up to 60°C.
