Step-by-step

Step 1

We created our design using the edding 780 gloss paint marker in white, but there are many other vibrant colours to choose from. Just pick your favourite! Relaxing music is great for helping you find the right rhythm, but you can also magic up designs without music if you prefer.

Step 2

First, you’ll need to activate your gloss paint marker as follows: shake the marker firmly with the cap still on. Next, remove the cap and prime the marker by pumping the nib up and down several times on a piece of absorbent paper until ink fills the nib. Once you’ve finished working, remember to always replace the cap and store your markers horizontally.

Step 3

Start creating your design by drawing delicate wavy lines from top to bottom on the cover of your journal. You can really vary the lines by drawing them closer together or further apart. You can also create a really nice effect by getting all your lines to meet at a certain point before diverging once more. As a final finishing touch, you could write the name of the owner on the cover of your journal.
