Step-by-step
Step 1
For this idea you’ll need: an edding 4095 chalk marker in white, an edding 780 gloss paint marker in white (stroke width 0.8 mm) and an edding 753 gloss paint marker with calligraphy nib in copper. Decide on a really nice motif or quote for your diary and sketch it out on paper.
Step 2
Now turn the sheet of paper over so you can see your template from the back. Using the chalk marker, go over your pencil lines or the outlines of the motif. Before using a chalk marker, you need to activate it: Shake the marker vigorously with the cap on. Remove the cap, place the nib on absorbent paper and pump it up and down gently a few times until ink appears in the nib. Now you’re ready to get started. (And don’t forget to always store the marker horizontally after use.)
Step 3
When you’ve finished, turn the template over again and place it on the notebook so the chalk marker lines are facing downwards. Next, use the pencil to trace over all the outlines again (you may need to press quite hard) and transfer the chalk marker lines onto the notebook.
Step 4
Now you can start to decorate your motif with colour. Before using the calligraphy gloss paint marker, it needs to be activated as described in step 2.
Step 5
Use the copper calligraphy gloss paint marker to go over the individual letters in your quote, or colour them in. The calligraphy nib means you can write beautifully with both broad and narrow strokes. You can also use the fine-nibbed edding 780 in white to emphasise individual letters with delicate lines and add embellishments.
