Step-by-step
Step 1
Before you start painting, ensure the coasters are clean, dry and free from grease. Stick strips of washi tape onto the coasters in a criss-cross fashion.
Step 2
Once you've chosen your preferred colour of edding Permanent Spray you can start painting. Use rapid strokes when spraying.
Step 3
When it's completely dry, carefully remove the adhesive tape.
Step 4
This masking technique can be used to create effective patterns on lots of other materials, too, such as porcelain or canvas. For a three-colour design, make sure you mask all other areas accurately that you don’t want painted before you spray (you could use paper for this). If you want to apply layers of colour, let one colour dry and then mask this area as well, so that the next colour only covers the areas you want it to.
