Step-by-step

Step 1
Gather all the materials you need before you start. We used permanent spray in black (colour code 901) and rose gold (937). After spray painting, the next step is to decorate your globe using edding 751 gloss paint markers. For ours, we used silver (054), pink metallic (079), pastel green (137) and white (049).

Step 2
First of all, take the globe apart and remove the thin layer of film with the world map. Using the craft knife, cut out a slot large enough for guests to insert their money gifts. Next spray the globe all over with black permanent spray. Ensure that you cover your work surface completely with masking film beforehand. In our Spray basics section we’ve got handy tips on how to achieve the perfect spraying technique. Spray the arc and base in rose gold or another colour of your choice.

Step 3
Once the spray paint is thoroughly dry, you can continue with the design. Before you begin, you need to activate the marker as follows: Shake the marker vigorously with the cap on, then remove the cap, place the nib on absorbent paper and pump the marker up and down gently a few times until ink appears in the nib. Now you’re ready to get started. (And after use, always replace the cap securely and store the marker horizontally.)

Step 4
If you prefer, you can use the pencil to lightly sketch out the motifs and words you plan to draw. Then all you need to do is add your colourful design using the gloss paint markers. There are so many options for a wedding theme, such as cute wedding motifs, well wishes for the bridal couple, or travel ideas. Just let your imagination run wild!

Step 5
Go over all your drawings and text with the gloss paint markers. Try making your writing more attractive by varying the style – sometimes bold, sometimes really fine and narrow, or by emphasising individual letters.
