Summer gift tags

Ice cream that’s guaranteed not to melt!

Summer without ice cream simply isn’t summer – for most of us, the two belong together. Inspired by summer refreshments, we’ve designed gift tags in the shape of ice creams - in suitable pastel shades, of course! The cool colour gradients are easy to achieve using edding brush pens and the brush pen colour mixer from the Colour Happy Box. Before you start crafting, take the time to enjoy a few ice creams and hold on to the wooden sticks afterwards.

Step-by-step

Step 1

You can see everything you need in our photo. As a starter set, the Colour Happy Box contains 20 brush pens plus the colour mixer. You can buy wooden lolly sticks from any well-stocked craft shop.

Step 2

Firstly, use a pencil to draw the outline of an ice cream on the paper.

Step 3

You will need two white strips on each gift tag for labelling afterwards. To create these strips, simply divide each ice cream into three segments using washi tape.

Step 4

Colour in the motif in whatever way you like and let your imagination run wild. You can also create stunning colour gradients using the brush pen colour mixer from the box of pens. To do so, clip two edding 1340 brush pens into the colour mixer so that the nibs are touching. Hold the pens upright and, after just a few seconds, the lower pen will take on the colour of the upper pen. You can then use the newly mixed colour on paper.

Step 5

To start with, the colour will be bright orange before gradually becoming more yellow. You can mix all the colours together by following the same method.

Step 6

Once you’ve finished colouring, cut out the ice cream and carefully remove the washi tape.

Step 7

To finish, add a wooden lolly stick to each ice cream. Your gift tags are now ready. If you like, you can write on the gift tags before giving them away.
