Step-by-step
Step 1
You can see all the materials you need at a glance in our photo. edding 1255 calligraphy pens are available in three different stroke widths and come in five colours. Select your preferred stroke width and the colour you like best. In our example, we’ve designed our place cards in black. Cut out your place cards to the size you want. They won’t be folded later on, so you don’t need to make them double the size.
Step 2
Now use the pencil to sketch out the name and the motif. In the left-hand section of the card, you’ll be punching a heart shape later on, so you can sketch this, too, while you’re at it. For the bride, we’ve simply designed a place card inscribed with the word “bride”.
Step 3
Now it’s time to use the calligraphy pen with the 3.5-mm stroke width. For really fine lettering, you can even select the 2.0-mm stroke width. To ensure you reproduce a nice calligraphy style, it’s important to hold the pen in the same position at all times without rotating it as you write.
Step 4
To finish, punch out a heart shape using the punch and attach the ribbon to the card.
