Step-by-step
Step 1
You can clearly see all the materials we used in this photo. It’s possible to paint dark and light-coloured stones. Before you begin, wipe your pebbles with a damp cloth and leave them to dry. Next, activate your markers. To do this, shake the marker with the cap still on until you can clearly hear the small ball rattling inside the pen. Next, carefully press the nib up and down until the ink fills the tip. You can try out a few practice marks on a piece of scrap paper.
Step 2
Think of a suitable motif. If you’re working with more than one colour, always let the first colour dry before applying the next (you don’t want the different colours running together). In our example, we first designed our leaf shape in anthracite before letting it dry thoroughly and then adding details in gold.
Step 3
This pebble has been decorated with circles in gold, hazel and light green. Once the colours are dry, further details can be added in light green.
Step 4
Sunny yellow is a great choice of colour if you’re adding bright highlights.
Step 5
You’ll always find somewhere to put such beautifully painted pebbles. These stones are also sure to be go down well as a gift if you’re visiting someone or going to a party, for example.
