Step-by-step

Step 1
To colour your paper fortune teller, you’ll need an edding 1200 colour pen in black. If you’re using A4 paper, first fold one corner diagonally over to the opposite side to form a triangle. Cut off the surplus paper so that when you unfold the triangle you end up with a square shape. Next, fold the square diagonally down the middle in both directions.

Step 2
Open up your sheet of paper once more. Next, fold all four corners into the centre of your square to produce an even smaller square.

Step 3
Turn your square over and, as before, fold all the corners into the middle to create an even smaller square.

Step 4
Carefully open the four pockets on the underside. Place your thumbs and index fingers in each of the holes. And that’s it! Your paper fortune teller is ready!

Step 5
It’s now time to add your designs: to do so, first unfold everything once more and use a colour pen to add eyes and a mouth to the top two (left and right) squares. Once you’ve done that, draw a jacket design on the bottom left and bottom right squares. Let your imagination run wild! Maybe design it as a mini oracle, making sure you write down statements or challenges.

Step 6
Next fold the paper again, as shown in steps 2 to 4.

Step 7
If you want, you could also add little hands and stick them to the paper.
