Create a unique design in next to no time!

Step-by-step

Step 1

In our example, we’ve created our design using the X multi marker pastel set (includes gold, mint and pastel rose). You can either download our design template or simply draw your own. We find it’s easier to copy out the template design in pencil first. Alternatively, draw it freehand.

Step 2

Before you start, you’ll first need to activate your markers. To do this, shake your markers with the cap still on until you can hear the small ball rattling inside the pen. Next, carefully press the nib up and down a few times on a piece of scrap paper until the ink fills the tip. You can also use the paper to try out a few practice marks. The narrow side of the marker is best for the more intricate lettering. In our example, we used the gold X multi marker for this task.

Step 3

Next, use your pastel rose marker for the words “COLOURS” and “LINES” and your mint-coloured marker for the word “outside”. Wait for the design to dry thoroughly (you don’t want the different colours running together). Now use your mint-coloured marker to enhance the word “COLOUR” to create a 3D effect.

Step 4

Colour in the bottom section of the page using your gold marker, leaving a heart-shaped hole in the middle. If you use the broad side of the chisel nib, you can do this in a matter of moments. Again, wait for the gold colour to dry thoroughly.

Step 5

Once the gold background is completely dry, use your mint-coloured marker to add the hand shapes as shown in the template design. Finally, add some painted fingernails using your pastel rose marker.
