Step-by-step

Step 1
You can see everything you need for this project in the picture below. edding’s acrylic markers come in an extensive range of colours, so just pick your favourite shades. We’d especially recommend the fine-tipped edding 5300 acrylic markers for creating intricate designs and adding your guests’ names.

Step 2
Before you start creating your designs, you’ll need to activate your acrylic markers as follows: shake the marker with the cap still on until you can hear the small mixing ball rattling inside the marker. Next, carefully press the nib up and down a few times on a piece of scrap paper until the ink fills the tip. Try out a few test strokes on your scrap paper. Once you’re happy, you can start decorating your wooden slices.

Step 3
Decorate your name cards however you like. There are no rules; simply let your imagination run free! In our example, we’ve created a lovely colourful rainbow. Once you’re happy with your design, leave the ink to dry thoroughly.

Step 4
Next, add the name of your guest to your design. (We’ve chosen to add ours to the top layer of our rainbow.) edding acrylic markers have a fine tip, making them ideal for adding delicate lettering.

Step 5
Leave the ink to dry once again. All that’s left to do now is to add your homemade name cards to your table.
