Make sure you have all your materials to hand before you start. Our photo shows the main items at a glance. In terms of colours, you’ll need black (colour code 001), pink (009) and turquoise (014). For best results, start by washing the item with water (a dishwasher is ideal for this), then wipe over with methylated spirits.
The next step is to write the title of the recipe on the container in pink and turquoise – in our example, it’s “Love Potion”. The tip of the brush pen is highly versatile, allowing you to create very fine lines by applying just the tip, or broader brush strokes by holding the pen flatter. If you make a mistake, it’s no problem – simply wipe it off with a damp cloth or cotton bud.
Next, write out list of ingredients one line at a time. In our example we’ve written: “A cup of laughter, a pinch of confetti, a couple of hugs”, but you can go for any recipe you like. When you’ve finished decorating, let the design dry for approx. 15 minutes, place it on a cold oven rack, slide it into the pre-heated oven and bake it at 160°C for 25 minutes. Leave in the oven to cool afterwards. After heat-fixing in the oven, the painted design will be dishwasher-proof.
