Step-by-step

Step 1
To decorate the pages, take the edding 1340 brush pens, the edding 1800 profipens and the pastel pen from the Colour Happy Big Box. Choose your favourite colours. You can also use the edding DR20 eraser.

Step 2
Think up a layout for your journal and sketch out all the words and images using the pencil. A combination of large, wide letters and narrowly written lines of text (‘LET’S explore’, for example) is particularly effective. Simply try whatever you like best.

Step 3
The motifs can then be highlighted, framed and accentuated using the fine edding 1800 profipen. You can draw a smiley face on the globe and give it arms and legs.

Step 4
Any pencil lines that are still visible can easily be removed using the eraser.

Step 5
Design the black box underneath the globe as follows: first, draw the box using the black colour pen (e.g. edding 1300) before using the white edding 1500 pastel pen to write “awesome” on the black surface. You can go over the word several times with the pastel pen to achieve the pastel effect you desire.

Step 6
Now it’s time to add some colour: use the edding 1300 colour pen or the edding 1340 brush pen to colour in the motif as the mood takes you. You can also achieve fantastic colour gradients on the coloured areas using the pastel pen, like the light-blue shading on the globe.
