Step-by-step

Step 1
To create your festival planner, you’ll need edding 1200 metallic colour pens in silver (colour code 054), blue metallic (073), green metallic (074) and violet metallic (078).

Step 2
Decide on your page layout and sketch it out lightly in pencil first. Our example shows one month displayed over two pages. On the left, we’ve written our survival checklist and, on the right, we’ve sketched a suitable motif: the sign of the horns. To make the checklist look more interesting, you could try writing certain lines in different fonts – some in tall, thin letters and some in fat, bold ones. Just let your imagination run wild!

Step 3
Using the colour pens, now go over all your pencil lines. You may wish to colour in some of the text or reinforce some of the strokes; we decided to make each line a different colour. It’s entirely up to you how you finish off the page with symbols or motifs.

Step 4
Not only is the soft nib of the metallic colour pen good for writing, it’s also excellent for drawing and colouring. We chose blue metallic to fill in the background of our horns gesture as well as the words and symbols inside the hand.
