Step-by-step

Step 1
You can see everything you need at a glance in our photo. In our example, we chose the porcelain brush pen in black (colour code 001) and pink (009). The template with the letter “T” can be downloaded from our “Templates” section; simply print it out and keep it handy for copying.

Step 2
For best results, start by washing the vase with water and wipe over with methylated spirits. Thorough cleaning is essential for removing any invisible protective film applied during manufacture.

Step 3
The motif is made up purely of small crosses. Copy the template and paint them on using the porcelain brush pen. First, do 3 rows of crosses across the full width, then add 3, 2 and 1 crosses respectively on both the outer left and right, followed by the central bar which is 5 crosses wide. The last row at the bottom should be a little wider. You could mix in a few brightly-coloured crosses to add visual interest to the overall design. If you make a mistake, simply wipe it off with a damp cloth or cotton bud. You can continue to make corrections right up until the baking stage.

Step 4
Once you’ve finished your design, leave the vase to dry for 15 minutes. Now preheat your oven to 160°, place the vase on a cold oven shelf, slide it into the oven and bake for 25 minutes. Leave in the oven to cool down afterwards. After baking, the painted decoration will be dishwasher-proof.
