Mini phantoms made from toilet roll tubes

When it comes to crafting, toilet roll tubes are the perfect material: it doesn’t take long for them to build up, they can be repurposed by upcycling, and they’re highly versatile! Take these cute little ghosts, for example. With the help of edding permanent spray you can spray the empty tubes in white and, once dry, add a spooky face using gloss paint markers.

Step-by-step

Step 1

To spray your tubes, you will need edding 5200 permanent spray in Traffic White (922). Before you start spraying, cover the area well with paper or film. In our Permanent Spray Basics, we’ve got handy tips on how to achieve a perfect finish. In this photo, you can see how to remove the safety ring from the spray can.

Step 2

Once you’ve activated your spray can, spray the cardboard tubes all over. When spraying, we recommend wearing a mask and gloves. It’s also a good idea to cover your work surface for protection.

Step 3

Leave the tubes to dry thoroughly. Next, cut the tubes in half across the middle.

Step 4

Apply glue to the inside of the tubes.

Step 5

Take two make-up wipes and pinch them firmly in the middle…

Step 6

...Then stick them to the inside of the tubes!

Step 7

The only thing you still need to do is give your little ghosts faces. To do this, you will need a gloss paint marker. Make sure you first activate it by following the instructions on the marker. Once activated, you can add a mouth and eyes.
