Step-by-step
Step 1
Print out the flamingo motif which you will find in the download images.
Step 2
Wash out any fabric finish from the bag, leave to dry and iron to remove any creases and get your pens ready. You’ll need edding 4600 textile pens in these colours: 002, 006, 009, 019 (available together in one set), plus 069 and 007.
Step 3
Trim the template to suit the size of bag and place it inside the bag. This will allow you to transfer the motif and at the same time it will prevent ink bleeding through to the back of the bag. Colour in the flamingo, one triangle at a time, with the textile pens.
Step 4
Use the brown (colour 007) for the feet and beak. To heat-fix the design, iron it using the no-steam setting. Your DIY flamingo bag is now wash-resistant up to 60°C.
