Step-by-step
Step 1
In our photo, you can see at a glance all the materials you’ll need to make this wall picture. First, photocopy the section of map you want to display and cut it out in the appropriate size. For practising, you can also use our template of a map with the text outline included.
Step 2
Next, come up with a suitable saying. In our example, we’ve written “If you never go, you’ll never know”. We suggest you sketch out the wording faintly in pencil first (you can erase the pencil lines later on). To make your calligraphy as stylish as possible, it’s important to always hold the pen at the same angle and don’t let it rotate. We recommend you practice the correct pen position by first doing a few writing exercises.
Step 3
Next, go over the lettering with the black edding 1255 calligraphy pen. If you’d like to learn more about writing with calligraphy pens, click here for our calligraphy training course.
Step 4
When you’ve completed your map design, secure it on the clipboard and hang it on the wall.
