What does your favourite cactus look like? Whether tall and spiky or plump and round, we guarantee you won’t be able to resist cuddling these prickly cactus cushions! Using the edding textile markers and textile pens, let your imagination go wild and create your own favourite designs to breathe new life into your decorative pillows. Simply think up a pretty pattern or use our cactus design to get started. You can choose from a range of 20 colours in two stroke widths, including neon colours for a particularly vibrant effect on all light-coloured fabrics, including cotton, silk and linen. Ideal for beginners and advanced crafters alike, edding’s new sets each contain five perfectly colour-coordinated shades (the set of blues and greens is the perfect choice for your cacti). After you’ve finished your design, iron the cushion cover using the no-steam setting. Your design will then withstand washes of up to 60°C.

Step-by-step

Step 1

Before you begin, we recommend that you wash and dry any new cushion covers so that the colour is absorbed better. Slide the cardboard into your cushion cover so that your design doesn’t transfer to the back of your cushion.

Step 2

This project is easiest if you create a cardboard template for the cactus design. Place the cactus template on top of the fabric and draw around it using the edding textile pen in green. Repeat this step, and your cheerful parade of cacti will begin to take shape!

Step 3

Now use the green textile marker with a wider tip to colour in your designs. If you want, you can also create a free-hand design.

Step 4

Leave your design to dry. Finally, add little flowers or hearts using the edding 4600 textile pen in neon pink (colour code 069) and red (colour code 002).
