Step-by-step

Step 1
To design your weekly spread, you’ll need the edding 1800 profipen and the edding 1340 brush pens in a selection of colours.

Step 2
Decide on your page layout and sketch it out lightly in pencil. In our example we drew a variety of different ice-cream cones and lollies. The weekly planner itself is on the right, so you’ll need to leave enough space inside your drawings for writing in your entries. If you want to play it safe, you can prepare a template in advance and then trace over the motifs.

Step 3
Use the fine-tipped edding 1800 to go over all the pencil lines, draw motifs or emphasise individual strokes. It’s best to make the headings (such as “August” and the days of the week) bold and striking and use black to fill them in.

Step 4
Now use the edding 1340 brush pens to colour in the lollies in whatever way you wish. You could keep it bright by giving each motif a different colour. With 20 colours in the selection, you’ll be spoilt for choice! But if the colour palette isn’t as big as you’d like, you can even blend your own colours.
