Step-by-step
Step 1
First, print out the two templates. In our example we’ve used the following acrylic markers: edding 5000 broad acrylic marker in black, silver and white. However, there are also many other colours to choose from. Simply pick out your favourites. Remove any dust before designing your box.
Step 2
Place the templates and the carbon paper on the wood and transfer the motifs using the pencil. Now activate all markers as follows: shake the marker with the cap on until you can clearly hear the mixing balls inside the marker start to rattle. Next, gently pump the marker up and down until ink appears in the nib. Try out the marker on a piece of scrap paper. Gradually, neatly colour in the sketched areas.
Step 3
For this stage, we’re using the silver acrylic marker. First, draw the outline of the semi-circle before colouring it in.
Step 4
Finally, use the marker to apply broad strokes to the wood (evenly distributed). You can decorate one side with white strokes and add black ones to the other side – whatever you prefer. Thanks to the broad chisel tip, the acrylic markers help you achieve results easily and very effectively. Let the ink dry thoroughly.
Step 5
Once you’ve completed your design and the acrylic paint has dried thoroughly, you can screw the box together and assemble the wheels. Your new decorative accessory is now ready.
