A homemade gift for First Communion or Confirmation

A ship laden with congratulations!

First Holy Communion and Confirmation are incredibly special services celebrated by Catholics and Anglicans respectively. How nice would it be if the congratulations were just as special? This DIY card is a great idea if you’re looking to design your own personal memento that will immediately attract attention: a small paper boat decorated using shiny metallic pens and glitter pens.

Step-by-step

Step 1

You can see all the materials you need to make your card in this photo. We used profipens along with our glitter brush pens and metallic brush pens, available in handy sets.

Step 2

Fold the blue card into the shape of a small boat. Next, use a metallic brush pen to colour the card in brilliant blue. The vivid ink creates a stylish look.

Step 3

Shorten a kebab stick so that it’s the right size to act as a mast. Write the name of the recipient on a small piece of paper to create your own unique flag.

Step 4

Glue the flag to the mast. That’s all there is to it - your little boat is ready!

Step 5

Design the front of the card using glitter brush pens and the edding 1800 profipen before sticking your boat on the front. The sparkly colours will give your card a suitably celebratory feel.
