Step-by-step
Step 1
To get started, think up some mood tracker ideas and plan the page layout you want. Sketch it out lightly in pencil first. To recreate our example for the month of December, draw two large circles with the aid of the compass, then divide the outer ring into 31 sections and write the dates of the month in each one. Next, use a black edding 1800 profipen to go over the outlines.
Step 2
Decorate the outside of the circle in a festive theme: holly motifs, for example, or sprigs of pine or baubles. You’ll find it best to sketch this out in pencil first before going over it with the black edding 1800 profipen.
Step 3
To show different moods (for example: tired, excited, happy, creative, bored) compile a key with a different colour for each mood and show this on the page. Now use the edding 1340 brush pens to colour in the journal page however you wish. The pastel pen – soft white is good for adding special pastel touches and lightening individual decorative features.
Step 4
Now move on to the next month. How about a decorative leaf pattern for January? Just as you did on the first page, divide the motif into lots of little sections, one for each day, and write a date in each one.
Step 5
Record your feelings day by day using the colour that matches your mood. You will gradually see a beautiful, decorative illustration take shape. You can colour in the spaces with the edding 1340 brush pen, or, if you prefer finer lines, just reach for the edding 55 fineliner.
Step 6
Continue your designs in the same way, month by month. We wanted to reflect the characteristics of May, so we added colourful birds in our design. There are no limits; just let your imagination wander and draw whatever you want, however you want.
