Read our step-by-step guide to find out how you can make it yourself with the aid of edding gloss paint markers. When it comes to the golf ball designs, you have a variety of stroke widths to choose from – but the best marker for the all-over painting is the edding 750 with its broader nib. For finer drawing, we recommend the edding 751, or the 780 gloss paint marker with an ultra-fine nib. You need to come up with 24 fun motifs for the painted golf balls. We think it’s a great idea to make them relevant to the recipient in question.

Step-by-step

Step 1

You can see everything you need at a glance in our photo. These are the gloss paint markers we used for the Father Christmas face: the edding 780 in black and white, and the edding 751 in pastel rose. To paint around the other golf balls, it’s best to use the broader-nibbed edding 750 – try yellow, brown and black, for example.

Step 2

Before you get started, a new gloss paint marker needs to be activated as follows: shake the marker vigorously with the cap still on, then remove the cap, place the nib on a piece of absorbent paper and carefully pump the marker up and down a few times until ink appears in the nib. (After use, always replace the cap securely and store the marker horizontally.) First of all, use the red edding 751 to draw Santa’s hat.

Step 3

Leave to dry for a short while, because you’re working on a small area and you don’t want the colours to smudge (don’t worry, the ink dries really quickly). Now add the face: the fine edding 780 gloss paint marker is perfect for the eyes, nose and mouth. If you want to paint several colours on top of each other, it’s always best to let one colour dry before continuing with the next.

Step 4

To finish off, write on the numbers 1-24 and stick the pom pom on the hat. There you have it – your special Christmas Eve golf ball is ready! The rest of the golf balls can be decorated however you like – with a smiley face, a reindeer, a football or perhaps a snowman. Just let your imagination run wild.
