Step-by-step

Step 1

Before you begin, you need to activate the gloss paint marker as follows: shake the marker vigorously with the cap on; remove the cap, place the nib on absorbent paper and pump it up and down gently a few times until ink appears in the nib. Now you’re ready to get started. And when you’ve finished, always store the marker horizontally. Next, test out the words you want to write on a piece of paper. That way, you can decide which style you like best. You can work with rounded or square letters, in cursive or block capitals, or colour the letters in.

Step 2

If you want to work with a stencil, first copy the stencil in the size you need and stick it inside the glass using sticky tape. The design will then show through and you’ll be able to trace over it on the outside of the glass. Suitable templates you can find in the download section. First, go over the outline of the design with the gloss paint marker, then colour it in.

Step 3

When hand lettering, there are countless lettering styles to experiment with. Simply do what you like! Painted lemons will add an extra cool twist to your design.
