Step-by-step
Step 1
Mix the concrete by following the instructions on the packet. Brush the inside of your mould (a toilet roll tube, for example) with vegetable oil so that the hardened concrete comes away more easily later on.
Step 2
Pour the mixed concrete into your mould until it reaches the height you wish your candle holder to be. Push a candle or a tea-light into the concrete so you can place a candle there later on.
Step 3
Leave the concrete to set for about 24 hours before carefully peeling away the cardboard. Before painting, make sure the candle holder is dry, clean and free from traces of grease.
Step 4
Now place masking tape on those parts of the candle holder you don’t wish to paint. You can create a highly effective look by using strips of different widths. Once you have chosen your preferred colour of edding Permanent Spray, it’s time to get down to painting. Spray the candle holder rapidly all the way round. We recommend using horizontal and vertical strokes as you spray to ensure an even finish.
Step 5
Allow the paint to dry thoroughly. Once everything is completely dry, carefully remove the adhesive strips.
