Step-by-step
Step 1
You can see all the materials at a glance in our photo. In our example, we used edding 1300 colour pens in black and various shades of yellow, green and blue, plus the edding 1800 profipen in black.
Step 2
Decide on your page layout and sketch it out lightly in pencil first. For example, you could write down a list of income and expenses for each month on the right-hand side of the spread, making a note of all receipts or fixed monthly costs on the left.
Step 3
The headings should ideally be big and bold, but don’t forget to leave enough space for the lists! Now use the edding 1800 fineliner to go over all the pencil lines or give individual letters greater impact. You can jazz up your finance tracker however you want using your own choice of decorative motifs – like these juicy lemons (for when you’re feeling the squeeze on your hard-pressed budget!), or perhaps with flowers to show that it’s a birthday month. Just let your imagination run wild.
Step 4
Finish off by colouring in all the motifs and headings using the edding 1300 colour pens, adding any extra touches you fancy.
