Design your own magnets – the easy way

Make unique cabochon magnets with edding fineliners

You can make your own magnets and personalise them with creative patterns or striking lettering in just a few easy steps. You’ll be amazed at how eye-catching and decorative your magnetic board will look!

The cabochon technique is so simple that even complete beginners can achieve great results.

The first step is to draw your delicate designs on paper using the super-fine nib of the edding 1800 fineliner. Then glue the paper between the plastic cabochon and the magnetic disc. If you want to add detailed drawings or patterns, or if you’re using dark paper, the edding 2185 gel roller is the perfect choice. If your designs include graphics, metallic colours such as silver and gold will lend an amazing shine – so just let your imagination run wild! You can find magnets for the cabochon technique in larger art-and-craft stores.
