Step-by-step
Step 1
First, wash new fabrics to remove any starch so that the ink can penetrate the material. Think up a design or an inscription. Our examples show: “YOU AND ME!” and “WEEKEND”, but you can add absolutely anything you want! Insert the cardboard inside the cushion cover so that the ink won’t bleed through to the back. Arrange the design on the cushion and use the thinner edding 4600 textile pen to draw the outline of the letters on the fabric.
Step 2
Using the thicker edding 4500 textile marker, colour in the letters or add more detail. Finally, make the design permanent by ironing it (without steam) to ensure it will withstand wash cycles of up to 60°C.
Step 3
Stencils are very effective for designing and adding lettering to greetings cards and Christmas cards. When applying to paper, choose edding 1300 colourpens for the perfect result – they're available in metal boxes containing 10, 20 or 40 different colours.
