Step 1
To create your pattern, you will need a black edding 400 permanent marker and a notepad or sheet of art paper. Start by drawing a square and dividing it into four quadrants. Don’t worry about using a ruler, freehand lines lend extra character to your design.

Step 2
Starting in the top-left quadrant, draw a series of slanted squares that get gradually smaller as you move towards the centre to create a spiral effect.

Step 3
Repeat the same pattern in each of the other three quadrants…

Step 4
...until you have only a tiny square in the centre of each one.
