Step-by-step

Step 1
Before starting, we recommend you practise using the calligraphy pen a little. Expressive calligraphy works best if you always hold the pen at the same angle. You’ll soon see how easy it is to achieve beautiful curved letterforms.

Step 2
Now you’re ready to get going: take the white paper and write some hints and tips on how to look after your pot plants, or simply write amusing words or phrases inside a speech bubble. Add some shading and small decorative touches such as dots or stars.

Step 3
Use the calligraphy pen to draw a frame around each phrase, which you can then embellish before cutting it out. Watch our how-to video for detailed instructions.

Step 4
Finally, secure each hand lettered label onto a wooden skewer with adhesive tape and insert them in your plant pots.
