Step-by-step

Step 1
Wash the fabric before you start decorating, leave to dry and iron to remove any creases. Gather all your materials. You can see everything you need at a glance in our photo. To ensure the ink doesn’t go through the fabric, insert the cardboard inside the T-shirt.

Step 2
It’s a good idea to prepare a stencil using your favourite font and place it under the fabric so it shows through. You can then use a textile marker or textile pen to trace directly over the motif. Alternatively, you can draw the wording faintly in pencil, as shown here.

Step 3
Go over it with a textile pen in the colour of your choice (we opted for black).

Step 4
Next, colour in the letters using the black edding textile marker.

Step 5
Now add whatever extra touches or decorations you like with the textile pen.

Step 6
Once you’ve finished drawing, we recommend you iron the design to heat-set the fabric ink. Your T-shirts will then be able to withstand wash cycles up to 60°C.
