Step-by-step

Step 1
First, wash the bags to remove any finishing agents in the fabric and leave them to dry. Print out the templates and get all your materials ready. You’ll need edding 4500 textile markers in blue (colour code 003) and violet (008).

Step 2
Cut out a piece of cardboard the same size as the bag and place it inside to prevent the ink bleeding through to the back. Position the template inside the bag on top of the cardboard, so you can clearly see the wording from the outside.

Step 3
Use the edding 4500 textile marker to trace over the letters one at a time. Make the lettering blue at the top and violet at the bottom.

Step 4
Where the two colours meet, try to blend them together. Colour gradients create interesting visual effects and are easy to achieve with textile markers, so long as the ink is not yet dry.

Step 5
To heat-set the design, iron the bag on the no-steam setting. Your personalised hen party bags are now wash-resistant, even up to 60°C.
To make the bride easy to pick out from the crowd, decorate her bag in shades of pink and red.
