Step-by-step
Step 1
If the cushion cover is new, you should wash, dry and iron it first so it absorbs the ink better. We recommend using a black permanent marker to prepare a pattern template beforehand. This polygon design consists of lots of triangles joined together. Next, slide the template inside the cushion cover, so the motif is clearly visible and the ink won’t bleed through to the bottom layer.
Step 2
In our example, we chose edding 4500 textile markers in the following colours: pink (colour code 009), red (002), blue (003), orange (006), violet (008), light blue (010), light green (034), orient blue (033) and carmine red (019). Colour in the individual triangles that form your pattern as you go along. To keep the triangles separate, always leave a thin white line between each of the coloured areas.
Step 3
If you prefer a finer nib, then go for the edding 4600 textile pen as it’s particularly good for patterns and motifs with lots of detail. The colours of this model are identical.
Step 4
Little by little, extend your pattern until it’s complete. This motif is extremely flexible because you can add extra triangles whenever you want.
Step 5
Once you’ve finished, heat-set the design by ironing it on the no-steam setting and it will then be resistant to washes up to 60°C.
