Step-by-step
Step 1
If the cushion cover is new, you should wash, dry and iron it first so it absorbs the ink better. These are the colours you’ll need for your world map: light green (011), violet (008), pink (009), blue (003), yellow (005), light orange (016), light blue (010), pale green (034), carmine red (019).
Step 2
First print out the template. If your cushion is a different shape, you may have to adjust the template. Stick them together with adhesive tape to make a complete picture. Make sure you line up the edges neatly.
Step 3
Slide the picture inside the cushion cover. You should be able see the motif clearly so you can easily trace over it. The template also prevents the ink bleeding through to the back of the cushion.
Step 4
Colour in the map with edding 4500 textile marker with dots in various colours (we used a different colour for each continent). You can create interesting effects by varying the density of the spots. To heat-set the design, iron it on the no-steam setting. Your cushion cover is now resistant to washes up to 60°C.
