DIY paper bag vase

Turn a paper bag into an attractive plant pot cover

A pretty pot plant is always a welcome gift, whether for a birthday, a brunch party or simply a chat with friends over coffee. But before you hand it over, don’t forget the pretty wrapping for the pot! So, what’s the right colour for the outer wrapping of a plant pot? Well, there’s no easy answer to that question, which is why we recommend making your own plant pot cover out of paper. And if you choose natural brown wrapping paper, you can’t go far wrong. Once you’ve made your DIY flower pot, you can add some amazing decorations using edding matt paint markers; these can range from bright and cheerful to the understated black motif we used in our example. The ink is opaque and dries to a metallic sheen. Follow our step-by-step instructions, using the template provided for folding the bags.
