Step-by-step

Step 1
Make sure you have all your materials to hand before you start. You can see everything you need at a glance in our photo. You’ll need the edding 1200 metallic colour pen in silver (colour code 054) and gold (053). Wash the ice cream holder thoroughly. Cut out a rectangle of black and gold paper large enough to wrap around the holder once and extend it a little so there’s space to punch the hole for the ribbon. Make the gold rectangle slightly larger than the black one.

Step 2
Use the colour pens to decorate the sleeve in whatever way you wish. Our example shows the word “Cheers”. We suggest you sketch the words faintly in pencil first before going over them with the colour pens. Or, if you feel confident, just go ahead and write freehand.

Step 3
When you’ve finished writing and embellishing, glue the black paper on top of the gold foil to give you a two-colour band which you then wrap round the confetti holder. Glue the two edges together, punch a hole and thread the ribbon through. Fill up your popper with confetti and seal it with the lid.
