Step-by-step

Step 1
You can see everything you need for this project in the picture below.

Step 2
Use your carpenter pencil to pre-mark five holes. Space them 10 cm apart along the centre of each timber baton. These will be used for threading the bungee cords.

Step 3
To ensure that the timber batons sit flush to the wall, saw off each of the ends at a 45-degree angle.

Step 4
Drill the holes you marked out in the previous step. These will be used for threading the bungee cord. You will also need to add drill holes at both ends of each baton, ready for fixing the batons to the wall.

Step 5
Hold your first baton in position in the corner of your room. Place the tip of the deep hole spray marker into each drill hole and press down once to mark the hole.

Step 6
Drill the two holes into the wall and wipe away any remaining green chalk using a damp cloth. Repeat the same process with your second baton.

Step 7
Measure the height of your ball net so that you can work out how long your bungee cords need to be. Next, cut the cords to the right length, thread each cord through the holes in the top baton and tie with a knot at the back.

Step 8
Stretch the cords downwards, thread them through the holes in the bottom baton and again tie with a knot at the back.
