Step-by-step
Step 1
For this project, you’ll need the finer-nibbed edding 4095 chalk markers in black, light green, neon pink, neon orange and white. Before you start, activate the edding chalk marker as follows: shake the marker vigorously with the cap on, then remove the cap, place the nib on absorbent paper and pump it up and down gently a few times until ink appears in the nib. Now you’re ready to get drawing. (And after use, always replace the cap securely and store the marker horizontally.) First of all, to create the branches for the birds to perch on, draw lines across the window using the black chalk marker.
Step 2
Print out the sloth and bird images in the desired size. You’ll find that using our handy templates takes all the hassle out of designing. Stick the templates on the back of the window and simply trace over the motifs in your preferred colours (we chose light green and neon pink for the birds).
Step 3
If your design doesn’t work out first time, or if you make a mistake, simply wipe it off with a damp cloth and start again. If you want to use multiple colours – for the sloth, let’s say - it’s always best to let one colour dry before continuing with the next. Start with orange for the body, followed by white for the face and tummy. Leave to dry for a bit, then use the black pen to draw on the eyes, nose and claws.
