Step-by-step

Step 1
In our example, we’ve used a set of X multi markers in pastel rose, gold and mint. Before starting your design, you first need to activate your X multi markers. To do this, shake each of the markers with the cap still on until you can hear the small ball rattling inside the marker. Next, carefully press the nib up and down a few times on a piece of scrap paper until the ink fills the tip. We also recommend using the paper to try out a few practice marks before you start. We’ve also provided a template for you to download.

Step 2
It’s best to first draw your design onto the back of your jacket using a pencil. Next, use the broad chisel nib of your chosen marker (we’ve opted for pastel rose) to colour in the bold blocks of lettering.

Step 3
Leave the ink to dry completely before using your gold marker to add decorative elements to the lettering.

Step 4
Next, use the fine tip of your mint-coloured marker to add small dots between the letters and underneath the hearts. This will give the design a softer feel.

Step 5
And that’s it – one stylish denim jacket complete with a fantastic pink motif! Once the ink’s completely dry, all that’s left is for you to hit the town and show off your new-look jacket!
