Step-by-step
Step 1
You can see everything you need for this project in the photo above. The spray paint we’ve used is edding 5200 concrete-effect permanent spray (941).
Step 2
If you don’t want to paint the whole jar, you can mark off a section using a strip of masking tape, as shown here. This will create a stylish see-through section on your finished jar.
Step 3
Before you start spraying, cover your workspace with protective sheeting or paper. Our Permanent spray basics page on our website also includes all you need to know on how to create the perfect spray paint finish. For best results, we recommend holding the spray can around 25 cm from your painting surface and applying the paint in a criss-cross motion. Once you’ve applied a coat of paint to your jar (or other item), leave to dry.
Step 4
Once the paint is completely dry, carefully remove any masking tape.
Step 5
edding’s permanent sprays are also suitable for use on wood, metal and plastic, so you can give other kitchen accessories the same stylish concrete finish if you fancy it (such as the kitchen roll holder, for example).
