Step-by-step

Step 1
Think up a page layout and sketch it out lightly in pencil first. A combination of hand-lettered captions with photographs can look particularly effective. Use the black edding 1800 profipen to colour in letters, make them bolder or simply go over them. Remember you can make each letter different from the rest – broad, fine, dotted... however you want.

Step 2
Now stick in your chosen photos. For added effect, use the edding 55 fineliner to draw delicate frames around your photos. The edding 1300 colour pens are perfect for adding matching motifs; depending on where you’ve travelled, these might be palm trees and parasols or polar bears and penguins!

Step 3
Headlines don’t always have to be written; why not craft them yourself, perhaps with a small strip of bunting. If you’re writing on bunting, the fine-tipped edding 55 fineliner is ideal.

Step 4
Small, handmade flags are also really eye-catching – and the best pens for colouring these in are the edding 1340 brush pens. Alternatively, for finer drawings, choose the edding 55 fineliner. Any photograph can be highlighted with delicate strips of bunting.

Step 5
Intersperse the photographs with entrance tickets, travel tickets and other mementoes and relive your memories of fascinating museum visits and other amazing adventures. Remember, there are no limits to your imagination – you can design however you want!

Step 6
Continue in the same way, page by page. Gradually, over time, you will create a wonderful travel journal to be enjoyed time and time again.
