Step-by-step
Step 1
In our example, we’ve used edding 4095 chalk markers (available in nine vibrant colours!) to decorate our chalkboard, plus a permanent marker to create our paper signs.
Step 2
Before you start, you’ll first need to activate your chalk markers. To do this, shake each marker vigorously with the cap still on. Next, remove the cap and carefully press the nib up and down a few times on a piece of absorbent paper until the ink fills the tip. Remember to always replace the cap properly after use and store your markers horizontally.
Step 3
You can decorate your sign however you like to show your guests what drinks are on offer. In our example, we’ve got both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available. If you’re not happy with a particular letter or even your whole design, you can simply wipe it off with a damp cloth and start again.
Step 4
Papers signs are also easy to create. Simply cut your paper to the right size (we’ve gone for a wavy edge in our example) and decorate using a permanent marker. Attach your finished signs to drinking straws using double-sided sticky tape.
