Hand-decorate your flower pots with a cheerful face to raise your spirits

Emojis have become part and parcel of our lives. These everyday digital symbols used to describe our feelings and situations are understood by everyone, no matter what language they speak – they’re ingeniously simple. With smiling, winking or red faces, we can show our friends exactly how we’re feeling. If you wish, you can now use emojis “offline” by jazzing up your home décor with these fun faces –by painting a plain flower pot, for example. First, prime the pot with edding permanent spray and then paint a cheerful, winking emoji on the pot using a black gloss paint marker. A few clicks (or strokes!) are all it takes, and your emoji is done. There are no limits to your creativity! Thanks to their opaque ink, edding’s gloss paint markers are suitable for almost all light and dark surfaces, from glass, metal and paper to plastic and all painted materials.

Step-by-step

Step 1

First, clean the flower pot. It should be as clean and dry as possible. We recommend that you spray paint outdoors if possible. Make sure you have all the materials you need before starting.

Step 2

Before you start spray painting, cover your work surface with sheets or paper. Visit our spray basics manual for tips on how to achieve perfect results.

Step 3

Spray the universal primer on the outside of the flower pot and leave it to dry for approx. 15 minutes. You can then continue spraying with mellow mint. We recommend that you spray paint from a distance of approx. 25 cm using horizontal and vertical strokes to ensure more even coverage. Leave the paint to dry for approx. 30 minutes.

Step 4

Once the paint is completely dry, you can draw on your favourite emoji using the gloss paint markers: black for the eyes, mouth and any hair, and white for any extra details.
