Step-by-step

Step 1

We’ve created our design using the X multi marker set that includes magenta, light green and yellow markers. Before you start, you’ll first need to remove the cover from your controller. Then you can get to work on your design. We’d recommend drawing it out in pencil first, but you can also go straight ahead and draw with your markers freehand if you prefer.

Step 2

The X multi markers need to be activated before use. To do this, shake your markers with the cap still on until you can hear the mixing ball inside the pen rattling. Next, carefully press the nib down a few times on a piece of scrap paper until the ink fills the tip. You can also use the paper to try out a few practice marks. Once your markers are ready, use the thin edge of the marker’s chisel nib in your first colour (we’ve used light green) to draw the fine lines of the pattern.

Step 3

Wait for the ink to dry before continuing (you don’t want the different colours to run together). Then add your next colour (magenta in our case) and wait for this to dry, too. We recommend using the tip of the nib to draw around the outline first and then using the broad edge of the nib to colour the inside. Let these areas dry.
