Step-by-step
Step 1
To recreate this picture, you'll need 3D double liners in traffic yellow, neon orange, black and mellow mint. First, sketch out your motif on a piece of paper, paying particular attention to the oversized umbrella. Starting with the broad dispenser, drag the paint in broad strokes towards the centre. Only the yellow stripes should meet in the middle. Apply the paint as thickly as possible so that when you come to the next step you can merge colours to great effect.
Step 2
Colour in the rest of surface of the umbrella in mellow mint. Finally, take the orange 3D double liner and use the narrow dispenser to go over the colours in a circular motion while they’re still damp. By doing this, you can smudge the coloured areas into each other. Now leave everything to dry thoroughly. Use black to add an outline around the umbrella and to draw the bottom half of the person holding it.
