Step-by-step
Step 1
You can see everything you need at a glance in our photo, including a can of edding 5200 permanent spray universal primer and a spray colour of your choice. We used white (colour code 922) in our example. If you also want to spray the base of your lamp, unscrew it from the lamp first.
Step 2
Sand the hooves and paws of the animals to improve adhesion and flatten the surfaces to be bonded. To allow the monkey to sit on the lampshade, make a slit at the bottom so it simply slots on.
Step 3
Before spraying, completely cover your work surface with masking film or paper. Once you've finished all the preparations, first apply the primer spray to help the subsequent colour adhere better. Leave the primer to dry for around 30 minutes. See our Spray Basics section for handy tips on how to achieve the perfect spraying technique.
Step 4
Wait until the primer is dry before spraying with your chosen colour. To ensure that the paint covers evenly, we recommend holding the can at a distance of about 25 cm and spraying with a spiral motion. Try not to spray too long in one spot.
Step 5
The base of the lamp can also be painted white so that everything matches perfectly. Once everything is thoroughly dry, use the hot glue gun to glue your painted animals to the lamp base and lamp shade.
