Step-by-step
Step 1
For best results, first wash the egg cups in water and wipe over with methylated spirits. Thorough cleaning is essential in order to remove any invisible protective film applied during manufacture. In our example, we used porcelain brush pens in a variety of colours. Start by drawing the outlines of the bunnies in black.
Step 2
If you go wrong, or you're not happy with your motif, simply wipe it all off with a damp cloth or make corrections with a damp cotton bud. Leave the outlines to dry for a short while before colouring them in – however you wish. To finish off your bunny face design, you can add some small, brightly-coloured dots to look like Easter eggs.
Step 3
Once you've finished decorating, leave the porcelain to dry for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven at 160°C (the top/bottom heat setting is best).
Step 4
Now place your egg cups in the oven on a cold oven rack and bake for 25 minutes to heat-fix the design. Leave in the oven to cool down afterwards. After baking, your decoration will be dishwasher-proof.
